One comment for “UK Kodak distributor Photologic in administration”

  1. Photologic owner, Irish businessman, John Gallagher, took back control of the company from its UK management just a few months before it failed. His Irish business, Photologic (Ireland), was put into liquidation the same week the administrators arrived at the UK company. They say the company has no assets, so it can not be sold.

Credit debts owed to Photologic (Ireland) arguably weren’t out of line with turnover.

The company had non-trivial medical imaging business, and debtors included another of Gallagher’s concerns, the Dublin clinic, Charter Medical Group.

Medical is generally the healthier side of the imaging industry, and tends not to suffer the same woes as the challenged photo sector.

The Kodak distribution that had been mediated through Photologic (UK) (which included supply to the Kodak Express group) is understood to be currently handled by direct sales from Kodak on the continent, and by some reallocation to other distributors, including Tetenal.
